CorrPro® Rotary Joints
The CorrPro rotary joint was the first of its kind to feature an externally adjustable syphon clearance, allowing operators to make precise adjustments from outside the roll. Its patented design enables fine-tuning of the clearance between the internal roll surface and the syphon vertical pipe even after installation, simplifying setup and improving performance. When installed by Kadant’s service team, the CorrPro rotary joint delivers maintenance-free operation from roll grind to roll grind. With its reliability, ease of adjustment, and proven durability, the CorrPro has become the preferred steam joint for wet-end corrugating OEMs worldwide.
CorrPro Cartridge Upgrade Kit
The CorrPro cartridge upgrade kit is engineered to enhance performance, durability, and service life in CorrPro rotary joints used in corrugated packaging operations. Designed to eliminate steam cutting and increase resistance to thermal cycling, this pre-assembled upgrade kit is housed in a durable steel body with a stainless steel piston and dual O-ring secondary seals for a robust, leak-free design.
LJX-PT™ Rotary Joints
The LJX-PT rotary joint is engineered for steam-heated rolls on corrugator single facers that experience misalignment and syphon clearance issues caused by high-speed vibration. It features large-diameter, rigid support rods that maintain precise rotary joint alignment and counteract torque generated by high-speed operation. The joint’s SecureLock™ retention plate ensures proper syphon positioning and clearance, providing reliable condensate removal even in high-vibration environments. With its heavy-duty, durable design, the LJX-PT rotary joint delivers long-lasting performance, stability, and efficiency under the demanding conditions of modern corrugating production.
Syphon Systems
Kadant syphon systems are engineered to efficiently remove condensate from steam-heated rolls used in preheaters, preconditioners, single facers, and various other applications found within the corrugated packaging process. By maintaining consistent roll temperatures, Kadant syphon systems help improve board quality, enhance heat transfer, and reduce energy consumption.
45-Series™ Steam Trap
Kadant’s 45-Series steam trap is engineered for efficient condensate removal in corrugated packaging plants, where maintaining heat transfer and system reliability is essential. Designed to discharge condensate from corrugating rolls, preheater rolls, preconditioner rolls, and hot plates, the 45-series steam trap ensures rapid warm-up and stable operation across the corrugator.
SteamAssist™ Bar
Kadant’s SteamAssist bar is designed to enhance corrugator performance by improving production speeds and bonding efficiency in double wall and heavyweight liner board manufacturing. Installed on the double backer section of the corrugator, the SteamAssist bar introduces even, low-pressure steam directly to the glue lines, preheating and “pre-gelling” the starch adhesive before it enters the double backer. This preconditioning process reduces drying time, allowing the corrugator to run faster while improving flute bonding and overall board strength.
ThermoZone™ Condensate Handling Station
The ThermoZone condensate handling station by Kadant is designed to improve corrugator performance by enabling near-zero steam pressure in the hot plate section, allowing single face board to bond to the liner without warping. This lower hot plate pressure and temperature produces flatter, higher-quality lightweight board, a critical advantage for today’s corrugated packaging operations. For greater flexibility, the optional rapid temperature response package includes advanced steam system controls and rapid relief valves that quickly reduce hot plate pressures and temperatures during grade changeovers, minimizing downtime.
Variable Moisture Steam (VMS® ) Shower Supply System
The Variable Moisture Steam (VMS) shower supply system is designed to improve efficiency and product quality in corrugated packaging operations, especially as plants use increasing amounts of recycled fiber. As fiber length and freeness decline, it becomes more difficult to form strong, uniform flutes at high machine speeds. The VMS shower system addresses this challenge by mixing steam with a controlled amount of softened water to create a saturated vapor delivered to the steam shower.
Steam and Condensate Systems
Kadant steam and condensate handling systems deliver precise temperature and pressure control across the entire corrugated packaging process, including preheaters, preconditioners, corrugating rolls, and double backers. Kadant’s integrates rotary steam joints, syphon systems, Turbulator® Tube™ bars, and thermocompressors into a controlled network, providing maximum heat transfer, fast heat-up, and optimized energy efficiency. Advanced PLC controls simplify operation and reduce maintenance requirements, while innovative blow-through differential control and thermocompressor technology eliminate steam traps and improve system performance.
High-Pressure Receivers (HPR)
Effective condensate management is crucial in corrugated packaging facilities. Kadant’s high-pressure receivers recover and return condensate from critical equipment, reducing flash steam loss and improving overall system efficiency (improved flow and boiler efficiency). By recovering energy and lowering water treatment costs, HPRs increase plant sustainability and ensure corrugated production lines operate at peak performance.
Deaerator (DA) Tanks
Deaerator tanks
safeguard boiler and steam systems by removing oxygen and dissolved gases that cause corrosion. DA tanks improve reliability and extend equipment life in corrugated packaging plants by conditioning feedwater before it enters the boiler. This process reduces maintenance, increases system efficiency, and ensures consistent steam delivery for corrugated board production. By preventing oxygen-related corrosion, deaerator tanks help corrugators run more efficiently and cost-effectively.
